My wife and I can confirm that Bay Tree House deserves a high rating. We arrived from Canada with last minute reservations and were give Four Seasons attention so that all we had to concern ourselves with were our daily amusements. Staying at their house is like having two attentive concierges taking care of six guests. Nice food too.

Hi Lee, I’m sorry to hear that. In the case of Bay Tree House, its rating is based on a very large sample (more than 260 reviews) so there is no chance of it being inflated. It has also won various other awards, so the overall picture fits together very solidly. I stay at B&B’s often while travelling and I can tell you that the trip advisor reviews are inflated. Not that the top rated places aren’t wonderful, but when you stay in someone’s home and befriend them, it is very hard to go home and write a critical review. They have become your friends after all. So you really have to read between the lines when reading the review and/or write to a few reviewers via private message to ask pointed questions about the establishment. I can tell you that I’ve had a couple of disappointing experiences despite stellar reviews.
