I totally agree with you. The budget chains try to argue that they are so cheap they can justify charging WiFi as an extra but Premier Inn particularly is in my view "mid price" rather than cheap:

As such, they should definitely be bundling WiFi in as part of the room cost. Travelodge should also recognise that WiFi is now part of the core hotel offering, along with the bed and the shower.

Maybe it requires a more visionary, technology-savvy generation of managers to take over key positions at these and other hotel companies before they see the light?

I stayed in the premier in with my children whilst visiting family and we stayed because it was afordable for me and the children to stay for 5 days, room was great but for the fact of no free wifi as the kids had brought along there laptop to keep them from being bored while in the room, we thought we could pick up a hotspot for free but didnt know u had to pay £10 1hr for there, I told the children no as it was to costly for our purse, much to there saddness. I HOPE THEY SOON DO FREE WIFI, AS I USE PREMIER INN A FEW TIMES A YEAR FOR ME AND THE KIDS.
