Exciting innovation in London hotel breakfasts.

Breakfast has long been seen as the key meal of the day and in recognition of this fact, hotels tend not to stray too far from the tried and tested.

Morning menu choices have commonly been restricted to full-English or continental breakfast options.  But recent developments show that many top London hotels are becoming a lot more adventurous in their morning offering. Many are now really pushing the boundaries.

The Lancaster London is currently offering an indulgent breakfast feast of gargantuan proportions, featuring burritos and lobster club sandwiches.

Others have been influenced by Japanese guests and offer a selection of breakfast choices from the Far East.  These include miso soup at the renovated Langham and tofu and noodle options in other London hotels.

Different culinary traditions are increasingly being combined with the British affection for a large hearty breakfast.  A deliciously diverse melting pot of breakfast concoctions is bubbling over to revitalise the first meal of the day.

At the Zetter Hotel, chef Bruno Loubet serves up a lavish ‘Breakfast Bistrot’ menu.  Guests can start the day with carrot and ginger soup or grilled sourdough topped with barbecue mushrooms and Gorgonzola.

While some of the strong tastes mentioned above may be unconventional, these pioneering delicacies are forcing us to rethink our idea of what breakfast means.  Indeed, a stay in one of London’s top hotels may open your eyes and mouth to a whole new world of early-morning options.
