Hilton Meets Stilton at the Waldorf.
Things get cheesy at the five-star Waldorf Hilton hotel this month with the introduction of a special menu created by Executive Chef Johan Rox and the Stilton Cheese Makers’ Association. There are six brand new dishes on offer, all of which feature Stilton as one of the main ingredients; ranging from the starter of Stilton, leek and wild mushroom soup to the dessert of Stilton cheesecake with figs and red berry compote.
The special menu will be served in the Homage Grand Salon restaurant which is the hotel’s main and most formal restaurant with chandeliers, elegant columns and a simple black and white colour scheme. If the soup starter doesn’t sound appealing then check out the Stilton, Serrano ham and quail egg salad. For mains diners have the choice of cod fillet with Stilton crust, grilled pork with Stilton stuffed prunes and creamy Stilton sauce or cranberry and walnut pie with Stilton crust. The meal ends with a dessert of Stilton cheesecake – that’s certainly a whole lot of cheese!
The menu is available until the end of February and costs £19.50 for 2 courses or £21.50 for 3 courses – pretty tempting for cheese lovers.
