Enjoy the Royal Ginbilee at the Rib Room.

by Jules on May 2, 2012

Celebrate the Diamond Jubilee in a gin-licious way!

The recently refurbished Rib Room Restaurant in 5 star Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel have teamed up with Bombay Sapphire to create a programme of Ginbilee cocktail masterclasses.  The interactive classes are hosted by Bombay Sapphire’s Brand Ambassador and give gin lovers the chance to learn how to make the perfect Gin & Tonic.

The classes are being held in the run up to the Royal Jubilee – thus the name – although it is a pretty tedious link but I’ll let them off because it involves gin!  As well as creating a standard G&T you will also be able to sample gin infused with Lapsang Souchong Tea Syrup and Rose Flower Water.  To soak up all that gin there will be complimentary canapes on offer which have been specially created to complement the drinks.

The Rib Room Restaurant recently had a facelift for the hotel’s 50th birthday

Everyone who completes the class will be given a goody bag that includes a 70cl bottle of Bombay Sapphire and a bespoke cocktail recipe.  The Ginbilee classes are running on Saturday 12 May, Saturday 19 May and Saturday 26 May from 2.30pm- 5.00pm.  They’re smartly priced at just £19.52 – which also happens to be the year the Queen took to the throne.

For those who can’t make it down to the classes, the Rib Room will be offering a special infused G&T for a whole month so you can still get to try the concoctions!   Otherwise you can head to the Cumberland Hotel’s bar, which will be offering a special Jubilee Royale cocktail; or The Goring, which has created the “1952” – a gin martini with real silver leaf costing a whopping £120 – you might want to sip slowly at that price!
