The luxury 5-star Athenaeum Hotel, recently featured on our blog as one of the best London afternoon tea hotels, has teamed up with the Royal Academy of Arts to offer art-loving guests a special package which includes tickets to the annual Summer Exhibition.
The Royal Academy’s annual Summer Exhibition, now in its 224th year, is the world’s largest open submission contemporary art exhibition. This year it will run from 14th June – 22nd August (right over the Olympic period!) and will feature a special homage to Matisse’s ‘The Red Studio’ as well as work from artists including Tracey Emin, Gillian Ayres and Antoni Tapies selected around this year’s theme “Raw.”Installation view of Gallery I, Summer Exhibition 2011. The “Arts & Culture Weekend” package includes one night’s stay at the Athenaeum Hotel, which features one of the largest living walls in the world and is just a short walk away from the Royal Academy of Arts. If you’re looking for another reason to visit London this summer, other than those infamous games, then this just might be it!
The Arts Culture Weekend Package starts from £210.00 per night for a double room. If your bank balance allows though we suggest you take the recently refurbished Rooftop Suite which boasts 3 bedrooms and stunning views over the capital. Bring the kids along too since this also happens to be one of the most family-friendly London hotels.
