Heathrow gets a new hotel.
The upcoming Olympics will not only bring a host of visitors to the city but also to the airports which is why we’ve seen an increase in the quality of airport hotels. We recently had a tour of the stylish Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow and it now looks like that beautiful 4 star hotel has acquired some extra competition.
The Park Grand London Heathrow is the newest hotel to open at Heathrow Airport, having opened late last month. It is a sister hotel to the Park Grand London Paddington and Park Grand London Hyde Park. Like its older siblings, the hotel is aimed at both business and leisure travellers.
The new hotel has 115 rooms, all with ensuite bathroom with rain shower, iPod docking station, TV and telephone. It also features a restaurant serving American, Italian and Indian food, Club Lounge and bar. There are 3 conference rooms suitable for meetings of up to 200 guests, a fitness centre and car park and free WiFi Internet access - plus every guest is apparently also offered a Full English breakfast free of charge.
Whilst the hotel is located at Heathrow, it is worth noting that it is actually around 5 miles from the airport which can be accessed by bus, taxi or tube. However if you book one of the special packages online you can usually score complimentary transfers to and from the airport.
