Lounge at One Aldwych launches in style.
The 5 star One Aldwych has always been one of our favourite Covent Garden hotels and we also recently posted a restaurant review of its modern European Indigo fine dining establishment on this blog. Now it has announced the opening of its guest only area Lounge at One.
Lounge at One has been designed by Fox Lintons and is opening with a bang having asked designer Paul Smith to select 50 of his favourite books which will be available in the lounge for guests to read. Sounds like another to add to our list of London hotels for bookworms.
It will be a private area for guests, almost like an executive lounge with food served throughout the day along with cocktails and hot drinks. This concept is a bit like London’s top-rated hotel on TripAdvisor – Hotel 41 (where in fact the whole hotel is closed to the public).
What’s more there will be a team of staff on duty day and night to tender to guests’ every whim. There will be iPads to use, magazines, newspapers, free WiFi and a specially-designated quiet zone.
The Lounge at One is open 7 days a week and as well as serving food throughout the day will offer free nibbles from 5pm – 7pm. And this isn’t the only thing Paul Smith has been getting involved in. With his help the hotel has also created a special Stay and Shop package including a night in the hotel, breakfast, a personal shopping experience, shop tour and £100 to spend in the Paul Smith store on nearby Floral Street.
Rates start from £370 per night for two in an Aldwych Room with breakfast, excluding VAT.
