The 5-star Sofitel St James has announced that it will be hosting a gourmet festival on 21st March 2013 named “Stars, Food & Art”.
This hotel with French roots in a former bank building has been beautifully restored – I recently visited its award-winning spa and was impressed with the hotel’s interiors, especially the St James Bar inspired by Coco Chanel’s 1920’s Parisian apartment and the colourful Rose Lounge.
The “Stars, Food & Art” night sees four international chefs with no less than 5 Michelin stars between them create one course each on a special menu.
The four chefs are Christophe Muller from the 3 star Auberge du Pont de Collonges in France, Michael Moore the famous Australian TV chef and author, Raymond Blanc from the 2 star Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Guy Krenzer from Maison Lenotre. That’s quite a line-up of culinary superstars!
Part of the profits will go to “The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia – Friends in the UK” – a charity which helps those who live, work and travel in Australia. The tickets are £275 per person excluding VAT and include the menu and matched wines as well as an exclusive art program. Whilst this might sound like a hefty fee, just imagine that you’re actually getting to try four different restaurants in one go and it is for charity!
Please enquire directly with the hotel for reservations.
