Today we’ve invited Jules Pearson, founder of London On The Inside, to share her favourite London hotel with us.
My favourite London hotel has to be the Hoxton hotel in East London, because it gets everything spot on and proves you can still be a design-led and fashionable hotel without charging the earth.
The hotel is located in Shoreditch and has always had a focus on fair pricing since its opening in 2006, offering complimentary facilities to guests ranging from free WiFi and water to cool hotel branded bikes and a breakfast bag left outside your door each morning. There are 208 rooms in total but the hotel still manages to feel like a boutique hotel with personal service.
What’s more, the hotel’s public areas are edgy and cool with a bustling bar serving up a selection of cocktails – I can fully recommend the Hoxton Fizz.
The restaurant is a great place for people watching – I’ve spotted Henry Holland and Noel Gallagher in there recently – and the avocado on sour dough for breakfast is one of my favourite breakfasts in London. Whilst for a lunch or dinner, the burgers and mac’n’cheese are well worth trying.
There’s a free ping pong table to use, a lovely garden, photo booth and always loads of events going on there from pop-up markets to yoga classes. Definitely the coolest hotel in London and there’s a new one all set to open next year in Holborn. You’ll find me in the lobby!
