Rosewood London hotel to open soon!

by Jules on July 4, 2013

If you thought now that the Olympics had been and gone and the hotel market was settling down then think again.  Just after the London EDITION announced its October opening, another new hotel has come onto the scene.  This time it’s The Rosewood which is set to open in High Holborn, also in October 2013.  What’s more the hotels are both located in Grade II Edwardian Belle Époque buildings!

However The Rosewood is a little more grown-up than the EDITION – no dancing clubs here!  This luxury hotel will have 262 rooms and 44 suites, a restaurant, bar, spa, courtyard and no less than 11 meeting rooms.  The pièce de résistance is the Manor House Suite, set in a private wing of the hotel with 6 bedrooms, a private elevator, its own street entrance and even its very own postcode.  If you had the cash you could actually live here (or lead a double life at least).  Other suites include the Garden House Suite with a garden terrace and the Chancery House Suite.

The restaurant will be run by Bjorn van der Horst, the popular chef who left London following the closure of his Eastside Inn restaurant.  Interiors are easy on the eye with lots of neutral tones and light colours.  Rosewood have hotels all over the world but this is their first in Europe.  There is no confirmed opening date and bookings aren’t yet open but the website says we can expect it to be up and running in October.
