Stylish drinks at The Milestone’s Stables Bar.

Stables-bar 3

We recently enjoyed a relaxing drink in The Milestone’s Stables Bar.

Originally a carriage house, this quiet and comfortable sanctuary is perfect for an after-work drink or a space to wind down at the end of a long week. If you’re looking for refined tradition in both your decor and your drinks, then the Stables Bar is the place to go. All cocktails are mixed exactly to your specifications by a skilful and knowledgeable bartender, who ensures that your drink is made just how you like it.

This is just one of the ways The Milestone fulfills its parent group Red Carnation’s philosophy to go the extra mile in providing a personalised hotel experience, where “no request is too large, no detail too small”. Previously, LHI have spoken to the hotel’s concierge, Jose Pauco, about the lengths he goes to in order to keep a finger on London’s pulse and have a wealth of tips and tricks at the ready for guests.

The bar menu at Stables has a range of nibbles to accompany the selection of beers, wines and spirits. Included in the complimentary snacks received with our drinks were some wasabi rice cracker peanuts which had a wicked kick to them and were perfect with a citrus-y gin and tonic to cut through the spice. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, with the horse theme lending the room an attractive eccentricity, and accompanied by the food and drink the bar makes for a great hideaway on a rainy spring evening.

We’ve visited The Milestone’s other drinking and dining options in the past, including their Cheneston’s Restaurant and Conservatory and Park Lounge.

It’s the ideal hotel to enjoy a leisurely meal, drink or afternoon tea. Just across the road is Kensington Palace and Gardens which is great for a leisurely stroll after dinner in Cheneston’s, or you could switch it up and tour the palace and gardens before collapsing into a comfy chair in the Stables Bar. Afternoon tea in the Conservatory or Park Lounge is an option too; and who says you can’t move straight from afternoon tea to an aperitif in Stables? Or you may prefer cocktails in the Conservatory like LHI blogger Saloni. The combinations are so tempting you may never leave the hotel!

Style and sophistication is order of the day at Stables Bar and indeed in the whole hotel. Whether it’s a quick drink before dinner or a whole evening whiled away on the plush green banquettes, the bar is a great choice to whisk you away from the outside world for a relaxing interlude.
