This month will see the launch of Dorsett International’s first European hotel – the Dorsett Shepherds Bush (this property had previously been earmarked for March). Meanwhile, its second London hotel near Aldgate tube station, Dorsett City, was granted planning permission at the end of last year and is expected to open in 2016.
But not content with gaining just a foothold in London, the Hong Kong based group has already announced significant plans for further expansion in the capital. Executive Director Winnie Chiu told Caterer and Hotelkeeper recently that the group is currently looking at further sites in Queensway, Earls Court, Farringdon and other areas. She went on to explain that the group expects around half of their guests to come from China, so expect their hotels to be infused with a taste of the Orient.
With such bold plans in the pipeline, many in the industry will be watching the fortunes of the Dorsett Shepherds Bush with keen interest.
