Marriott, Hilton, Travelodge…among London’s booming hotel market there are many familiar names with multiple hotels in the capital. So it’s always interesting when a new contender throws their hat into the ring.
This new contender for the hearts and wallets of London’s visitors is Dorsett Hospitality International. Opening on the 24th June after initial delays, the Dorsett Shepherds Bush is the first hotel to be opened in Europe by the expanding Hong-Kong based firm. It will however not be the last, as the group have plans to expand into several London locations.
The Dorsett Shepherds Bush has 317 rooms, accompanied by a Chinese restaurant and bar.
There are also a number of meeting rooms within the Grade II-listed building which was formerly the Shepherd’s Bush Pavilion cinema. The hotel’s Asian roots are infused throughout, and the opening ceremony featured a traditional ‘lion dance’.
Hotel industry insiders and investors will no doubt be watching closely to see how this new London operator fairs over the coming months.
