Afternoon tea in London hotels has a reputation for being a traditional and classy affair, and also for being, well, served in the afternoon.
The K West Hotel & Spa in Shepherd’s Bush however is intent on turning that paradigm on its head, with the launch of its new Glam Rock Afternoon Tea.
The K West Hotel & Spa was itself a music studio in a previous incarnation, and the launch of this new tea is a nod to that musical heritage. Artists who have previously recorded at the property, according to the Metro, include David Bowie, the Kinks and Bob Marley.
So what does a glam rock afternoon tea entail exactly? Well, for starters, the tea is available between 10PM and 1AM – very rock and roll, and perfect if you’re heading back from a gig at the Empire. Of course if you’re an afternoon tea purist, you can also take it between 2PM and 6PM.
The tea itself is served on classic vinyl covers from well known rock bands and musicians, and features a range of rock inspired treats, with names to match.
The menu includes a variety of ‘Rock and Savoury Rolls’ and ‘Ohhh Sweet Child of Mine’, while the bespoke tea is aptly named ‘Tea Rex’. There is also a selection of cocktails available, including Lemmon Lennon and Passion Parade.
Prices start at £22.50, while a Glam Rock Prosecco Afternoon Tea and Rock ‘N’ Cocktails Tea are also available for £29.50 and £32.50 respectively.
