There must be something about spring that makes it perfect for hotel openings and refurbishments. We’ve got The Lanesborough revealing its new look in a few months, M by Montcalm opening its doors for the first time in late spring this year, and now Montagu Place is getting in on the action.
The intimate boutique hotel in Marylebone is getting a refreshing new look to make their guests feel truly at home. They have plans for their lounge area, Comfy bedrooms, as well as the Fancy and Swanky bedrooms, with colours ranging from heritage blues to bright reds. Their current colour choices in the public areas are smart and neutral, but they’ll be giving them a bit more warmth with deep blues, greys, browns and a touch of copper.
Over in their Comfy rooms, currently decked out in grey with deep red and purple accents, it’s all change to a beautiful rich aubergine theme, with heather and dusky pink to create a homely interior.
And in the swish Fancy and Swanky rooms, it’s goodbye to orange and hello to contrasting deep neutrals and bright red accents.
The design palettes created for the refurbishment feature plenty of warm colour and some classically inspired pieces of furniture. With smart and comfortable sofas, sleek black coffee tables, luscious leather armchairs and lampshades in soft, neutral colours, the new look is sure to be a warm welcome for guests after a long journey (or a short one).
A hotel should feel like a home away from home, except a bit better. If it felt exactly like your home, you’d probably be disappointed. But it looks like Montagu Place are aiming for the sweet spot between ‘homely’ and ‘special’ to bring you comfort along with a little extra that you can’t get at home.
The new look is exciting and we can’t wait to see the end product!
