Do you like your hotels huge and sprawling or small and intimate? If you don’t mind hotels with hundreds of rooms, there are lots of options to choose from. But what if you’d rather stay somewhere with a more personable atmosphere and far fewer other guests? If you want a hotel that’a a little less cavernous, there are still lots of places that will be to your liking.

Check out these small London hotels with 25 guest rooms or fewer…

Hotel 41

Tiny 41 has only 18 rooms, so you won’t be overwhelmed by crowds of guests when you sit down at breakfast.

But despite its small size, or perhaps due to it, it still delivers a 5-star stay. The grand décor is suited to the smaller space, with mahogany panelling and ornate chandeliers. There are twice as many members of staff at the hotel than there are guests, so you know you’ll receive attentive service.

Hazlitt’s

This 23-room, 4-star hotel provides an intimate hideaway by Soho Square.

If you want a central location, with access to Oxford Street, plenty of theatre and designer shopping on Bond Street, Hazlitt’s is in the perfect place. The hotel occupies three historic houses on Frith Street dating back to 1718. Rooms are traditionally furnished with period features, but include up-to-date amenities like free WiFi and flat screen TVs.

The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell

Zetter’s quirky little hotels are popular with the hip crowd. Their Townhouse in Clerkenwell, just 13-bedrooms large is driven by the group’s fictitious Great Aunt Wilhelmina, whose handiwork is behind the design.

When you’re not spending time in one of the delightfully eccentric bedrooms, whether it’s a Club Room or the Townhouse Apartment, you can pass an hour or two in the warm and welcoming Cocktail Lounge.

Sit by the fireplace and enjoy something from the menu of small plates and supper bowls, along with a cocktail. You can even book the whole house for a proper celebration. Zetter’s new townhouse in Marylebone will open in spring 2015 with just 24 rooms, designed by their wicked Uncle Seymour.

These are just a few of the small boutique hotels you can stay in for a more intimate experience. There are other options if you want somewhere with 25 rooms or under…contact us for our personal favourites.
