One of London’s most historic luxury hotels, The Savoy, likes to give its guests a little something extra when it comes to culinary options.
With food venues such as Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar & Grill and Simpson’s–In-The-Strand already giving hotel guests and visitors alike plenty of choice, The Savoy has decided to offer a little something more, with the opening of its ninth food outlet.
The Melba at The Savoy has just opened offering a choice of decadent delicacies for anyone wishing to indulge in a sweet treat. The gourmet food outlet will serve up all manner of tasty bites, including pastries and sandwiches, but most importantly, éclairs. The Savoy’s signature éclairs will be available in a dozen different exotic flavours, including lychee, rose and raspberry; Passion Fruit and Milk Chocolate and of course Melba.
The flavours will also change on a seasonal basis, so you’ll have an excuse to try them all over again.
Executive pastry chef Ludwig Hely explained his reasons for focusing on éclairs to Big Hospitality: “The éclair presents so much opportunity to be creative… As a child it was only about a simple coffee éclair and now as a pastry chef I can play with different flavours, some classic and some more unusual.” He went on to say, “the ultimate goal is to create something that will make people smile.”
The sweet-centric outlet is open now to tempt visitors walking down the Strand, seven days a week.
