If you like to keep fit even when you’re away, there are plenty of London hotels with gyms, fitness suites and pools. But the gym can get a little lonely, especially if you’re somewhere new. For anyone who prefers a more social workout, check out these London hotels with running clubs…

The Rembrandt

Anyone who chooses to stay at The Rembrandt in Knightsbridge has discounted access to the private Aquilla Health and Fitness club next door.

The luxury facilities include a gym, exercise classes, sauna and spa. But if you’d rather spend time with other fitness enthusiasts, they also have a running club. It meets every Tuesday in the Aquilla reception at 12.30pm for a 3-mile circular run around Hyde Park.

The Landmark

The Landmark’s Health Club offers a range of personal training options, as well as top-class facilities.

If you don’t want to improve your core stability or take a boxing lesson, you can join the hotel’s running club on a jog through Regent’s Park. You can also have a personal trainer take you for a run or, for something more hardcore, try a 5k circuit training course.

Holiday Inn Stratford

The Holiday Inn Stratford City has a 24-hour gym, but it also has a once-a-week running club.

Working in partnership with the local Nike Store, guests can join a run every Thursday at 6.30pm. The perfect time to burn off some frustrated energy as the end of the working week approaches. But if you’re not around on Thursday, there’s always the gym treadmills.

Town Hall Hotel

The running club at the Town Hall Hotel is one of several in London taking a new approach to motivation.

If you think running is pointless when there’s no reward at the end, you’ll love this new breed of running club. Because when your run’s over, there is a prize at the end: food. At the end of each run, runners can enjoy a meal in the hotel’s Corner Room. What’s more, the running group is managed by GoodGym Tower Hamlets, who don’t just run for the sake of running. They combine their jogs with doing good deeds, so you’ll feel great all over.

Don’t shut yourself away in the hotel gym when you can get out for a run with these great hotels. And if you’re lost for somewhere to go, there are plenty of local London running groups who will be happy to welcome you.
