Game, set and match for Wimbledon at these 3 London hotels.

by Laura on June 9, 2015

Wimbledon, the biggest tennis event of the year, is just a few weeks away! If you’ve missed out on tickets, it’s too late now but you can still enjoy a wonderful Wimbledon experience at these London hotels…

Eccleston Square Hotel

Since its opening, Eccleston Square has touted itself as being one of the most high-tech in London. So it makes sense that for Wimbledon they’ll be showing the matches in high definition on their 103″ Panasonic 3D cinema screen.

You can settle into the hotel’s media lounge and have afternoon tea or hot snacks and meals as you catch the action. There’s also cocktails at the fantastic price of £4.95 each from 5-8pm, and if you’re exhausted at the end of the day you can stay the night. A stay at the hotel gets you access to the private Eccleston Square Gardens, which has its own tennis court.

The Landmark

If you’re looking to eat your way through Wimbledon, there’s more to it than gorging on strawberries and cream.

There will no doubt be plenty of Wimbledon-inspired afternoon teas and The Landmark is one of them. If you choose to take it in their Winter Garden between June 29th and July 12th 2015, you’ll get a tennis-themed meal.

Treats include Pimms jelly infused with mint and a classic strawberry cheesecake; as well as a pistachio sponge cake with rosé champagne cream.

Four Seasons Park Lane

A single glass of champagne with afternoon tea might not be enough to quench your thirst. If you’re looking for a more boozy Wimbledon experience, the Four Seasons London Park Lane has some special cocktails.

During the tennis event, you’ll be able to sample three new drinks on the terrace at Amaranto, designed by Ivan Arena and the bar team…

There’s the strawberries-and-cream ‘Wimbledon Cup’ – strawberries, vodka, elderflower liqueur, lime juice & ginger ale plus a side of whipped cream. Or ‘Winner’s Ball’ with tequila, Cointreau, lime, agave syrup & pineapple. And if neither suits, you can enjoy an apple, mint, gin and Midori ‘Tennis Field’.

Whether or not you’re lucky enough to see the real thing, you can have an amazing Wimbledon experience in a few weeks’ time. The whole city will go tennis crazy, so don’t limit yourself to merely watching the matches!
