London is a fantastic place for exploring with children. There’s no end of things to do, and many of them are free. But you can’t be out and about all the time, and hotel rooms can be boring for little nippers.
Whether it’s a rainy day or you need to entertain the kids while you get ready to go out, you need things for them to do. Here are some of the ways London’s top hotels are stopping your kids from climbing the walls…
Many modern kids are used to a screen in front of them. Even if you’re determined to limit their use of tablets and phones, they’re still useful tools. They can be both entertaining and educational for your kids, especially when stuck in a hotel room.
Many of London’s top hotels are now providing guests with free access to Gold Key Media’s Media Box – including The Andaz Liverpool Street, Chessington World of Adventures Hotel and the Dorchester Collection.
In addition to offering a wide range of magazines and newspapers for the older guests, Gold Key Media have just added the classic Beano comic to their collection of digital content. They can download this to their mobile or tablet, and take it with them when they leave the hotel – giving them something to enjoy whilst travelling home too.
Gold Key Media have a range of products to keep the younger guests happy during their stay, as they also provide interactive Children’s Maps for London, a range of activity packs and children’s magazines. What’s more, colours and crayons are supplied too!
So there are plenty of ways for your hotel to help your children enjoy their stay in London.
Whether they are sitting in the hotel reading or enjoying the activity packs, downloading comics on their tablets, or finding exciting things to do with their own personal maps, your children are sure to have plenty to do whilst they stay in the capital. Just check with your hotel in advance that they have Gold Key Media‘s products, and their Digital Media Box enabled at the property.
Toys and Books
Sometimes you don’t need fancy modern gadgets to keep the kids entertained. Brown’s Hotel have just launched a new family programme, but they’ve long provided little touches for their smallest guests.
There are toys and books aplenty at the hotel – and all the books are on paper. Kids get a teddy bear in their room, plus a special library card so they can check books out of the VIP kids’ library.
There are books and magazines aplenty, plus movies and games consoles for the more modern child. Brown’s offers an immersive experience for little ones, from fun bedding to milk and cookies at turndown and bathroom rubber ducks.
Movies and Games
Then again, modern technology is always good at capturing kids’ attentions. On a rainy day or a quiet evening after running around London, some time in front of the TV can be relaxing and fun for all the family.
Brown’s isn’t the only hotel that offers movies and games consoles for kids.
Many hotels with films for adults to stream provide for little ones too, such as Mondrian London where they’re complimentary with their Kids on the Southbank offer. Not only that, but their in-house cinema, Curzon, also shows family favourites on their big screen.
So there’s no excuse for your children to be bored when you’re staying in London! When you’re not out and about, your hotel could well have plenty of ways to keep them entertained and occupied.
