While Burn’s Night might give you a good excuse, it doesn’t need to be a special occasion to enjoy a good glass of whisky. If you’re partial to a wee dram, we’ve got a few top London hotels you should visit…

Pullman London St Pancras

The Gold Arrow bar and restaurant at the Pullman St Pancras has a collection of over 200 whiskys.

Their in-house whisky expert is on hand to recommend something you’ll love. In fact, you can book a tasting session of six different whiskies with one of their whisky sommeliers. You’ll know you’re in the right place by the display case of  whiskies, including some limited editions.

Hilton London Metropole

The Hilton London Metropole has an entire lounge dedicated to the art of whisky drinking. Head to their Whisky Lounge to sample 70-plus whiskies.

It might not be as large a collection as at Pullman St Pancras, but it does include several rare and exclusive labels. If you’re not sure what to have, you can select one of their four whisky flights to give you a sample of three different labels. Their whisky sommelier with make suggestions too, and there’s a selection of light bites perfectly paired to your drink.

The Athenaeum

The Athenaeum is going through a bit of a change at the moment, renovating their ground floor, including the restaurant and bar.

But that won’t stop you from accessing their collection of over 300 whiskies. They’re still serving an all-day dining menu in their Roof Top, where you’ll get great views to go with your drinks. Whiskies on offer include the hotel’s own The Athenaeum Speyside Blended Scotch.

Full drinking and dining will be back up and running by May 2016.

The Capital Hotel

If you want to learn to be a whisky connoisseur, head to The Capital Hotel for one of their master classes.

The Capital Bar is probably the only bar in London offering whisky and cheese pairing, which is what you can look forward to during the class.

Try a Talisker 18-year-old with Roquefort or Kilchoman with a nice Epoisse. If you want to explore the art of whisky drinking even further, try their ‘Fine and Rare’ whisky class. You’ll enjoy some wines and cheese, plus delve into the history of each whisky to get the full experience.

Stop off at one of these hotels on your next visit to London if you’re a fan of all things whisky. Or book a room a few nights and work your way through their whisky selections at your leisure.
