With the Easter weekend just gone, we’re still in one of the most chocolatey periods of the year. There’s plenty of Easter chocolate left, but now it’s on sale. If you haven’t reached chocolate overload just yet, have a gander at some of these super-chocolatey afternoon teas…
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tea at One Aldwych
Fans of Roald Dahl’s fantastical children’s story (or either of the films) will love afternoon tea at One Aldwych.
The menu, inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, features a golden chocolate egg filled with vanilla cheesecake and mango, blueberry brioche, and Eton mess. Of course, it also comes with scones accompanied by clotted cream and jam, as well as a selection of classic sandwiches.
Charlie and the Chesterfield Afternoon Tea
This year, One Aldwych has competition for their afternoon tea. The Chesterfield Mayfair’s new menu is also inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Their take is perhaps a tad more chocolatey, with blended chocolate tea or hot chocolate for children, and a chocolate Wonka Bar. Even the scones are dusted with chocolate. The Oompa Loompa children’s menu comes with peanut butter and jam sandwiches.
Chocolate Afternoon Tea at The Landmark
It’s all chocolate, all the time for afternoon tea at The Landmark. Well…unless you go for the traditional tea. Their Chocolate Afternoon Tea is full of cocoa delights for any chocolate lover.
Each sweet treat has chocolate in it, including a coconut and chocolate macaroon, and banana, pecan nut, and milk chocolate cake. For white chocolate fans, there’s a blood orange and white chocolate mousse, and the menu is finished off with a pistachio and chocolate Opera gateau.
Confessions of a Chocoholic at Hilton Park Lane
The Hilton on Park Lane’s Podium Restaurant and Bar has a beautiful chocolate afternoon tea, which is great to eat and look at.
Confessions of a Chocoholic features chocolate chip scones with praline chocolate spread, dark chocolate and raspberry parfait pastries, and a chocolate dome miniature fancy. The best part is that all your sweet treats come on an edible chocolate plate, so you won’t be able to wait to lick the plate clean.
If you just can’t get enough chocolate, maybe some of these menus will go some way to satisfying your cravings. If they don’t, there’s always that discounted Easter chocolate…
