We can’t resist a makeover. It’s always fun to see how a hotel chooses to reinvent itself, so we can’t wait to see the unveiling of the new lobby and restaurant at Baglioni Hotel London.
The hotel has been working diligently on its new look, with all to be revealed in May. The Italian-owned hotel has kept the spaces in line with their heritage, bringing in design firm Rebosio + Spagnula from Milan. At Baglioni they like to add sumptuous flourishes of luxury, with plenty of gold and warm colours liberally applied. The new design for the lobby and restaurant is in keeping with this, creating a modern space with a touch of retro vintage about it.
The new restaurant, Osteria 60, takes its inspiration from 1950s Milanese trattorias. While there’s an air of luxury, it’s also simple in some ways.
The new bar and restaurant is designed to reflect the ‘osteria’ restaurants that were once popular in Milan. The style of restaurant focuses on serving a simple selection of wine and food.
One of the excellent things about the design of the new lobby is that it makes the restaurant accessible to both guests and the public. The open-plan lobby connects the hotel reception with the restaurant and has two separate entrances – one from the hotel and one from outside.
The redesign of the two areas combines tradition with modernity, and the same goes for the restaurant’s menu. You’ll find some of the best Italian cuisine in London at Osteria 60 and, of course, plenty of fantastic wines.
Why not see the new lobby and restaurant for yourself with one of the hotel’s special offers or packages?
If luxury cars are your thing, Baglioni London has two excellent packages the include hire of an Italian sports car. The Italian Driving Experience features three nights in a one-bedroom suite with the use of a Ferrari or Lamborghini for a day. The Italian Driving Escape to the English Countryside gets you three nights in a one-bedroom suite at Baglioni London, before you zoom off in your luxury car for two nights at Stoke Park Country Club in Buckinghamshire.
The new hotel lobby and restaurant will be officially revealed in May 2016, so there’s just a short time to wait for the unveiling! We’re sure it’s just as beautiful as the photos suggest and look forward to dropping in next month.
