Make the most of summer in London with these 3 hotels.

london in summer

With a few more sunny days finally making an appearance, we’re surely not far from summer. London is a wonderful city in the summertime, and you don’t want to miss it. There’s so much going on during the (hopefully) sunny season, from festivals to pop-up bars. As well as things to do, lots of London’s views and sights take on a new feeling when the sun comes out.

The perfect summer holiday in London requires the perfect hotel. It should be ideally located so you can get out and see the city, and give you somewhere cool and relaxed to put your feet up at the end of a hot day.

Tune Hotel Paddington

The centre of the city is one of the best places to be in the summer. Tune’s Paddington hotel is in a fantastic location to spend some quality time out in the sun, or find somewhere to hide from the rain.

In fact, their latest blog post outlines some of the best attractions to visit during the summer. The hotel is close to Hyde Park, where you can do everything from going for a stroll to boating or watching someone at Speaker’s Corner.

Pretty Little Venice is nearby, or you can stay close and admire the architecture at Paddington Station. Of course, the hotel itself is ideal for a summer stay too. The budget model helps you save so you can spend less and still get a central location. Being close to Paddington means access to the rest of the country too.

The Corinthia

Having somewhere to sit outside is a priority for some in the summer. If you want to have somewhere to relax, there are some great hotels with courtyards, rooftop terraces, and gardens. Some of these spaces might feel a little too exposed for some, however.

At The Corinthia, you’ll find The Garden Lounge, an exclusive and intimate space where you can hide away and still enjoy the sunshine.

You can enjoy alfresco dining, as well as the offerings of the bespoke humidor and the terrarium-style bar. It’s open until 1am too, so you have all evening to enjoy the warm summer nights, of which we will hopefully have plenty. If you’re more of a morning person, you can enjoy your breakfast out there too.

The Westbridge Hotel

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a brilliant place to explore in the summer. There are events taking place, as well as permanent installations for you to explore. One of the best reasons to go in 2016 has to be the park’s newest attraction. A giant slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit opens on June 24th. It’s the UK’s tallest public artwork, and going down it will rush you through light and dark sections and 12 turns, including a tight corkscrew section. It lasts a mere 40 seconds, but that’s quite a while for a slide, and you could go as fast as 15 miles per hour.

If you’re looking for budget options near the park, you can choose the Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express. But The Westbridge Hotel is only half a mile away and offers you a 4-star alternative.

The hotel is set in a Grade-II listed building and decorated in a classic British yet contemporary style. It has a fitness centre and restaurant, as well as a relaxing lounge. On top of being close to Olympic Park, it’s only ten minutes from shopping in Stratford Centre and the tube station.

There are lots of ways to enjoy London during the summer, especially if you want to get outside. Some hotels are excellent for different activities, but whichever one you pick, you’ll be able to explore the city.
