Offers abound for Afternoon Tea Week 2016.

by Laura on August 10, 2016

Afternoon tea is always appropriate when you’re in London. This week is Afternoon Tea Week 2016, and London’s hotels are extending some great offers, plus there are some fun alternative menus to try.

Dotty Dalmatian Tea at the Park Lane Hotel

The Park Lane Hotel recently rebranded as the The Sheraton Grand Park Lane. To mark the change, and their renovation, they have been recognising Green Park’s link to the original 101 Dalmatians film.

As well as a competition to find two handsome Perdy and Pongo lookalikes (they chose the very pretty Domino and Lulu from over 400 entries), they’ve also created a special tea.

The menu features a lemon mousse and Oreo in the shape of Perdy’s paw, and a blueberry cake that looks like Pongo’s bowl. The tea is available until the end of August – you can also enjoy it when you stay with your dog by booking the Dotty Dalmatian Package.

Four Teas at The Lanesborough

Head to The Lanesborough to get four teas for the price of three (£144). Just book your tea this week (until the 14th) through afternoontea.co.uk.

The Lanesborough’s traditional tea is served in either Céleste or the Withdrawing Room. It features classic sandwiches, French pastries, and freshly-baked scones – and tea, of course.

Summer Teas at The Dorchester and The May Fair

If you want to celebrate summer while you can, there are two afternoon tea menus in particular you might want to try. At The Dorchester, ice cream is the order of the day with their Ice Cream Champagne Afternoon Tea.

It includes house-made ice cream cones and comes with a glass of Laurent-Perrier. If you feel like something more exotic, try May Fair Kitchen at the May Fair Hotel. Their Spanish and Italian-inspired El Dolce Semplice features decidedly Italian elements like bruschetta, amaretto and Sicilian lemon scones as well as a Spanish touch in their churros with chocolate sauce.

Free Champagne and Prosecco

Plenty of hotels have got the bubbly flowing. You can get a free glass of champagne at Rubens at the Palace and The Chesterfield Mayfair.

The London Marriott West India Quay Hotel has gone for rosé champagne, while Eccleston Square Hotel and Ham Yard Hotel are serving prosecco.

Great Discounts

If bubbles aren’t for you, try one of the many great discounts at various hotels. Head to a Radisson Blu Edwardian for 20% off, making it just £18.80 per person. You can also get 25% off at a number of places, including Brown’s Hotel, The Montague on the Gardens, and The Intercontinental London – The O2.

You’ve still got most of the week left to enjoy Afternoon Tea Week, so get out there are grab a bargain.
