Hotel restaurants are rarely there to stay. Every few years, a hotel might get a new one, with a new menu, team and branding. Two London hotels have recently reworked their restaurants, one with a Basque influence and one inspired by Peruvian cuisine.

One Aldwych’s new restaurant is by Eneko Atxa, an award-winning chef whose Basque restaurant in Spain, Azurmendi, has three Michelin stars.

It has a menu inspired by Basque cuisine, but Atxa is keen to stress that he doesn’t want to serve traditional Basque food. The aim is a more contemporary restaurant with Basque heritage. Eneko at One Aldwych is relaxed but stylish, with an uncomplicated but colourful menu.

The restaurant is now taking bookings, with a special 50% off food until the end of August 2016…well worth going for if you like Northern Spanish food.

The Radisson Blu Edwardian, Mercer Street also has a new restaurant with a somewhat international flavour.

Peruvian cuisine is on the rise, and Monmouth Kitchen will showcase the South American country’s offering. It will replace Scoff & Banter and offer cerviche, tapas, and cocktails made with pisco, a popular Peruvian spirit. The restaurant will be a sister to May Fair Kitchen at the May Fair Hotel, serving “the best of May Fair Kitchen with a Seven Dials twist”.

These two new restaurants both represent exciting arrivals to the London restaurant and hotel scene. They add colourful options for both hotel guests and visitors in the heart of central London.
