When you think of hunting for game, you probably picture an autumnal scene with people in tweed, guns and a couple of dogs. So it’s the perfect time of year for a spot of shooting with St James’s Hotel and Club.
You won’t actually be shooting any game with the hotel’s new package. But you do get to have a go at shooting some clays, following by a tasty meal with all the game you could ask for.
The hotel has partnered with Purdey, the gun craftsmen. Guests who choose their Game Package will get the chance to take a shooting lesson with Purdey’s world-renowned, hand-crafted guns.
The shooting lesson takes place at the West London Shooting School. The 2-hour lesson is led by experts, who will teach you to handle your gun. Don’t worry if you’re inexperienced – they’re patient! The lesson is followed by a 5-course menu at the hotel’s restaurant, Seven Park Place.
The Michelin-starred restaurant has a special game menu that any diner can choose, regardless of whether they want the whole package.
It features such tasty delights as a boudin of pheasant and foie gras with lentils, a saddle of venison with celeriac and beetroot and to finish, a dark chocolate ganache with pain d’épices spices and salted caramel ice cream. All these suitably autumnal flavours are sure to warm you up after your lesson.
The package also includes an overnight stay at the hotel and continental breakfast. At £553 per person, it’s available until November 30th 2016. But if you don’t feel like the whole package, the game menu is available at Seven Park Place until the same date.
If you’re looking for an autumn activity, why not give shooting a go? You don’t have to go to the country when you can do it without leaving London.
