It’s just a few weeks until the US election. It’s an emotive time for Americans everywhere, whether home or away. But no matter how you feel about the outcome, Thanksgiving will arrive soon after.
If you’re a US expat who anticipates feeling homesick, a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in London could cheer you up. Here are three places to get your turkey this year and more.
Four Seasons London at Park Lane
The Four Seasons at Park Lane is offering Thanksgiving fare for both lunch and dinner in their Amaranto restaurant.
The four-course meal is full of Thanksgiving favourites, including turkey with bread stuffing, cranberry sauce, and sides. There’s pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert, or hazelnut and pecan pie tart, if that’s more your style. There’s also Rockefeller oysters, and roasted squash veloute with black trumpet mushroom and roasted chestnut.
At The Goring, there’s a seafood twist to begin, with both a Dorset crab pancake with béarnaise sauce and lobster and sweetcorn chowder.
You’ll get barbecued pig cheeks before the main event of traditional Thanksgiving turkey. Dessert is a fun peanut butter and jelly donut and lemon box pie, with tea, coffee and petit fours to finish it off.
45 Park Lane
Thanksgiving is the first of the festive celebrations for the season at 45 Park Lane’s Cut restaurant. Join them on Thanksgiving Day (November 24th) for a three-course feast.
There’s abundant choice at Cut, with 8 salads and starters, 6 entrées (main courses if you’re a Brit), a choice of sides, and 4 dessert choices. As well as turkey there’s also steak, Dover sole and jumbo prawns. Finish off with a traditional pecan pie or a Kabocha pumpkin and ginger cheesecake.
You won’t have time to feel lonely this Thanksgiving with these welcoming hotels ready to feed you. Why not stay the night once you’re sleepy and full of turkey and pecan pie?
