Catering to business travellers generates essential revenue for many of London’s hotels. The city is a hub for business activity, and hotels can provide anything from meetings rooms to bedrooms. Several hotels have focused on developing their meetings and events spaces this year.
Some hotels have created special packages, like the healthy eating meeting concept at Hilton London Bankside. Others, such as the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park, have renovated their spaces. More hotels have recently put money and work into transforming their meetings and events spaces to cater for more modern business.
The Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill is one of these hotels.
They have recently revealed 3 renovated spaces – the Blenheim, Marlborough and Spencer Suites. The rooms have been redesigned as part of the hotel’s refurbishment, which also included guest rooms and suites.
Like other hotels, The Churchill is focusing on flexibility in their events spaces. They’ve kept the design minimal to allow for the rooms to be arranged in different ways. As well as using the contemporary-classic style present throughout the hotel, the spaces have design elements that touch on Winston Churchill’s life and interests. For example, the carpet design and herringbone patterned wall covering reflect his fondness for fine tailoring.
Like other hotels that have renovated their meeting spaces, The Churchill has made sure to cater for the plugged-in generation.
The rooms provide lots of power sockets, plus HDMI, VGA and audio inputs. They have intuitive audio-visual systems, retractable projector screens, ceiling speakers and Apple Airplay connectivity. The Bring Your Own Device system allows 4 devices to be shown on screen at one time.
The Clayton Hotel Chiswick is another newly-refurbished hotel that has sophisticated meeting spaces. They can hold up to 400 delegates, with a flexible setup and state-of-the-art AV equipment.
Hotels in London are recognising the changing needs of business people for meetings and conferences. They’re likely to continue focusing on technology and connectivity to attract business.
