The Montcalm hotels are known for providing modern luxury, with top tech. Their latest City of London offering caters to “business travellers, weekenders and urban explorers”.
The new hotel, which opened at the beginning of the month, adds 253 modern bedrooms to The Montcalm’s collection. Montcalm Royal London House is on Finsbury Square, a great location for both business and pleasure. While the design is inspired by the mid-twentieth century, the tech features are all twenty-first century. The Montcalm was one of the first hotel groups to partner with Handy to offer complimentary smartphones to their guests, and they’re available at the new hotel too.
Other tech amenities available to guests include complimentary WiFi, a smart 55″ TV, iPod docking station and media hubs. Rooms also have Nespresso machines and even a pillow menu.
The hotel has two bars and two restaurants. They include Burdock, a laid-back bar and all-day eatery and the rooftop restaurant and bar, Aviary.
Burdock serves everything from takeaway breakfasts to sharing plates for dinner, as well as offering spaces for creative work and meetings. Aviary, which opens in November, is a modern brasserie which will serve afternoon tea, lunch, dinner, brunch at weekends and bar food. Guests can also enjoy a wellness and fitness centre with pool, sauna and steam room.
Business visitors can make use of the meeting space for up to 300 delegates. The hotel can provide everything from audio-visual equipment to brain food. The space is also suitable for weddings, as well as exhibitions and trade shows. The meetings and events spaces, along with the wellness centre and Aviary restaurant, open in November.
The new addition to The Montcalm’s portfolio offers a central location to travellers. It could be a preferred choice over the Marble Arch hotel or M by Montcalm at Tech City for many.
