It’s just a little over two weeks until Christmas. You haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet and you’re rapidly running out of time. London’s luxury hotels to the rescue!
You can always count on London’s hotels to come through with the goods if you’re stuck for present ideas. If you know someone who loves hotels, try out some of these gift shops to pick the perfect present this year…
You might think everything in The Ritz’s gift shop would be too expensive for anyone who isn’t rolling in money. But they actually have gifts for all budgets, with prices ranging from £10 (a Ritz Rubik’s Cube) all the way up to £8,500 (a diamond set watch).
You can buy items that allow you to pretend you’re at the hotel, such as robes and slippers. There are home items too, including teacups and saucers, and candles. A tin of Ritz Royal Blend tea should go down a treat, or there’s a special Ritz Christmas pudding.
The Savoy offers signature gifts, homewares, and tea in their online gift shop. There are books, bags, and bone china to select from.
Signature gifts include a book about the restoration of the hotel, a thermal flask, and a silk purse. You can also get some delicious shortbread for £8.90.
The homeware section features a range of sophisticated items for your home – including the £11,325 Savoir bed. If your budget can’t quite stretch that far, try a set of two silver-plated egg cups for £39 or perhaps some beautiful Wedgwood side plates for £50.
For a smaller and more affordable gift, you can select from 13 teas in 50g or 100g stylish black containers.
The Dorchester has a nice selection of gifts at their online shop too. From leather wallets to gin, you can find presents for almost anyone.
If you’re looking for a kid’s gift, the hotel’s Tennyson Bear is £45 – and he’s soft and cuddly. If you prefer your teddies all dressed up, you can also get a chef or doorman bear. You pay a little more for the costumes, though, at £125. There are also scarves for men and women, and cosmetic products such as lip gloss and collagen eye masks.
The hotel’s leather tray, scented candle, tea and mugs all offer affordable and lasting gifts too. If none of that seems suitable, there’s also the option of a bottle of Old Tom Gin.
Of course, if these gifts don’t tickle your fancy, you can always buy a voucher for a stay or a spa experience. Plus, there are other hotels with gifts to consider.
