Urgh, January. It’s certainly not the best month of the year, and has the potential to get you down. If the first month of the year has you feeling glum, perhaps a good winter pop-up will cheer you up?
A cosy pop-up can offer you a drink or a warming snack to help you ward off the cold. Make the most of January with one of these lovely London hotel pop-ups…
Apres-ski at The Courthouse Hotel
The Courthouse Hotel in Soho launched their winter pop-up in November, and they’ll keep it open until February.
Their apres-ski terrace has made a comeback this winter, having had success in previous years. The partnership with Grey Goose means some delicious vodka cocktails are available to enjoy, as well as a selection of other hot and cold cocktails. Snuggle into a fleecy chair and sip on a Courthouse Toddy.
Sipsmith at Ham Yard
The Ham Yard’s winter pop-up is also making a return to its roof terrace, after a successful year in 2016.
They have once again teamed up with gin brand Sipsmith to present Hot Gin Roof, this year with a theme of The Classics. From 20th January to 14th February, you can enjoy reimagined gin cocktails from the 1920s. Have a Hot Negroni, a Reverse Martini, or the pop-up’s signature Hot G&T.
BlackTail at The Bloomsbury
If you can hold on until February, there’s also a pop-up at The Bloomsbury which will make an appearance in the second week.
From the 9th to 12th, New York’s celebrated speakeasy will set up shop in pop-up form at the hotel. The pop-up might only be there for three days but it will be bringing a slice of Cuba to London while it’s there.
It’s part of the hotel’s Club Residencies Project, which began in November. The hotel bar plans to host a number of other leading cocktail establishments from around the world.
Make the next month or so a little more exciting by visiting one of these pop-ups before they disappear. But even after they’re gone, there’ll be others coming along soon.
