Hot on the heels of the ACE is another new London hotel opening, the Qbic.
Soft opening on 5th October, the Qbic Hotel London City is the second in the group, the first of which is in Amsterdam. The hotel itself sits just off Whitechapel Road near Aldgate East station. Perfectly positioned for a curry on Brick Lane or better still Tayyabs, one of the best in the city.
The Qbic will have 171 rooms and will launch with a £1 sale… just like another East London hotel we know not too far away, The Hoxton. Rooms will start at £59 per night and include breakfast and free WiFi (hooray!). There are four room categories including one with no window which is the cheapest… just like another East London hotel we know nearby, Tune.
The rooms are compact and simply decorated with high quality finishes – shower, bed, TV and mood lights… just like Citizen M. So it seems the Qbic has taken all of the things we like from some of our favourite London hotels and rolled them into one. Which can only be a good thing, right?
There will also be a food and beverage outlet which judging by the pictures looks pretty funky, packages which involve working with local businesses including a bike tour and a self service check-in. We expect to see a fair few more Qbic hotels popping up soon.
