There’s a new hotel brand heading to London, but before you go getting too excited it’s not actually new hotels it’s some of the city’s older hotels being re-branded. Previously known as Guoman Hotels, the group which includes The Royal Horseguards, The Cumberland and The Charing Cross Hotel has been renamed glh. However it now seems glh are separating the hotels again and renaming The Royal Horseguards Hotel, which is currently closed for refurb, the Clermont London.

The hotel will be part of the Clermont Collection which is a new brand being launched featuring properties in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur too. In fact there are set to be 30 Clermont hotels launched over the next 10 years.
The Royal Horseguards is set to re-open in 2014 and will remain a 5-star hotel with the website stating that Clermont Hotels will give The Ritz a run for it’s money. There’s no word on whether or not the hotel will feature the innovative Afternoon Teas which we have previously reviewed (and loved) on this website but let’s hope so!
