Trendy Hoxton Hotels is getting ready to open a second London location in Holborn, set to open in a few months. Although the group refers to the opening happening ‘later this summer’, bookings start from October, which is perhaps pushing the definition of summer a little.
The group’s first property in Shoreditch combines 208 individually designed bedrooms with warm and welcoming communal areas that are no less creatively designed. Open since 2006, they underwent a revamp earlier this year. The guestrooms are all the same size, each coming with the same benefits and the same size beds, bar eight ‘concept rooms’ where the design is kicked up a notch.
On top of the Hoxton Grill serving food and drink, the hotel also has The Apartment, an entertainment and events space equipped for anything from parties to business meetings.
Set within a Grade II listed building, the Hoxton Holborn has 174 bedrooms. Also in the building is a conservatory restaurant, two more restaurants in partnership with Soho House Group and a basement Chicken Shop serving rotisserie chicken. Additionally, there’s a café, Holborn Grind, for your daily caffeine fix and the Cheeky salon with a sleek nail bar.
Unlike at The Holborn Shoreditch, the bedrooms are available in four sizes, beginning with Shoebox rooms at 12 square metres, moving to Snug, then Cosy, and finally Roomy 23 square metre rooms, large enough for a king or twin beds. All rooms come with free WiFi, a complimentary breakfast bag, rain showers, and an hour of free phone calls ‘to pretty much anywhere’.
Although the hotel group are perhaps being optimistic in their definition of summer, it’s an optimism that should serve them well as the opening of their new property draws nearer.
