HOORAY! Guoman Hotels now have free WiFi.
It looks like more and more hotels are taking note of our free WiFi campaign. The latest group to join the cause is Guoman which just last week launched free WiFi in their 5 London hotels which include The Royal Horseguards (known for its creative afternoon teas), Charing Cross Hotel and The Cumberland. The group has teamed up with BT to offer free WiFi to guests throughout the hotels. This makes us very happy!
It also makes the expensive 4 and 5 star hotels (some of whom we’ve named and shamed) which continue to impose hefty WiFi tariffs on their guests look increasingly isolated.
The luxury Charing Cross Hotel is also attracting guests by getting involved in the pop-up trend with a Faulty Towers Theatrical Dining Experience. Located in a specially-created Torquay Suite Theatre, the two hour show includes a three course meal and entertainment; and with only a third of the show scripted you can certainly expect some twists and turns!

Tickets start from £43.50 which includes the show and a meal with 8 shows per week consisting of evening performances Tuesday-Sunday; plus matinees Saturday-Sunday. I’d suggest starting with a pre-dinner drink in Eleanor’s bar, which I previously reviewed on this blog and which serves some interesting drinks – we recommend the signature sangria.
We just hope the Faulty Towers experience stays within the Torquay Suite Theatre and doesn’t affect any of the hotel’s other services!
