Winter cinema returns to The Berkeley.

by Jules on November 8, 2012

As winter draws its chilly veil over the city, we’re getting a little bit obsessed about cosy nights in the cinema here at London Hotels Insight…

Last month we blogged about hotel cinematic experiences (including the W Film Club and Martini Movies at One Aldwych) and just yesterday about the best cinemas in London generally, not just at hotels.

And now there is another London hotel cinema experience literally taking film buffs to new heights.  The Winter Cinema from last year returns to the 5 star Berkeley hotel’s roof terrace this month and whilst some may shudder at the thought of watching a film on a rooftop in winter, fear not because The Berkeley have sorted everything you need to keep warm!

From hot chocolate, blankets and fluffy cushions to hot water bottles, mince pies and heat lamps – it’s all arranged.  The winter cinema experience sees the rooftop health club & spa changed to a pine-filled forest which seats just four people for the ultimate in intimate cinema screenings.

Kicking off on 26th November 2012, the cinema runs until 31st January 2013 with a programme of classic films including ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ and ‘Love Actually’.  The cinema costs £55 per person or is free for guests of the hotel, but given the number of seats you would be well-advised to book in advance.  There are two showings – one at 5pm and one at 7pm – with weekend screenings reserved exclusively for hotel guests.
