‘High Tease’ at The Grosvenor Hotel.

by Jules on December 4, 2012

If you like your tea with something nice and sweet then you might want to head along to The Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria which has launched a series of events named ‘An Evening of High Tease’.   The events kick off on 20th December in the newly refurbished cocktail lounge and if you haven’t worked it out already, they’ll be focused on burlesque dancing.

Now you may wonder why a luxury hotel in Victoria has started up burlesque nights, well the answer lies in its history and the famous former guest, the Parisian Courtesan Cora Pearl.  The same lady also has a suite dedicated to her which I have previously blogged about.  Cora had quite the reputation and would no doubt have approved of this sauciness.

Each evening cost £65 per person and includes a cocktail on arrival, entertainment from the brilliant Bettsie Bon Bon and a champagne evening tea.  If one night just isn’t enough then there is the option of a ‘Weekend of High Tease’ which involves a whole two days of burlesque and fine dining costing £199 per person per night and is only available on group bookings.  A great idea for a hen weekend perhaps?

If you can’t make December then don’t worry as there are a further two more dates available in the diary; 31st January and 28th February.
