For luxury and class, The Milestone’s Nutcracker Christmas Extravaganza is hard to beat. The hotel’s package takes as its starting point one very simple fact – you’re in London to be absolutely spoiled. You’ll see the city’s Christmas lights from an open-top horse and carriage, be chauffeured to Harrods and you will of course be treated to an English National Ballet performance of timeless festive classic The Nutcracker at the London Coliseum. To launch the package, the hotel even brought in three members of the ballet company to assist with the switch on of their Christmas lights.
As for the room, your suite comes complete with four-poster bed and 24-hour butler service, and a special festive turndown treat from the hotel – myrrh, frankincense and a gold and diamond necklace. A private ride aboard the London Eye, champagne in hand, rounds off the package in suitably grand style, and it’s all expertly held together by The Milestone’s attention to the smallest details and discreet ultra-deluxe intimacy.

In keeping with its art-deco ambience, Claridge’s offering also aims for a mix of vintage Christmas style and London luxury. Its Timeless Christmas features a gargantuan 7-course Christmas Day lunch in the French Salon & Drawing Room, but all other festive meals are optional, leaving more scope for dining out at your favourite London restaurants. A Christmas Day horse and carriage ride through Mayfair, stockings filled with treats for the kids and a complimentary bottle of Champagne are some of the special touches that will make for a memorable Christmas for families and couples.
As we revealed recently, Claridge’s stunning Christmas tree was designed by McQueens’ Katy Ellis, and adds much to the hotel’s festive atmosphere.
The Baglioni’s Magical Christmas
