HotelMap revolutionises London hotel search.

HotelMap is a cool new interactive tool for searching out and booking London hotels
Have you ever struggled to “picture” your London hotel’s precise location?
Research suggests that location is the number one factor in choosing a hotel and yet most booking websites follow a boring, linear format. There’s finally an alternative on the scene which takes a completely different tack.
HotelMap is the brainchild of London-based entrepreneur Steven Potter and seems to be the ultimate geo/location-driven hotel search and booking tool.
Not only does it let you see your hotel in a street map format – far more flexibly and clearly than when using conventional online maps like Google Maps – but you can also see hotel rates and availability in real time.
In fact, HotelMap even interactively flashes up hotels which currently offer discounts and highlights others that are currently fully booked.
It allows you to compare different London hotels within walking distance of each other and near the attractions or conference venue most essential for your trip. In fact, once you try it and have a play, the first thing you will ask yourself is: why didn’t someone think of this before?
There is clever stuff behind the scenes of HotelMap. They have gone to the trouble of integrating it with each hotel’s own reservation system. This means you pay nothing upfront and deal directly with the hotel.
No wonder the application took years of painstaking development. Each of the maps you see online has been individually drawn, because it was found that off-the-shelf maps did not go to the required level of detail.
It even took a year of trial and error to ensure that the mapping could be rejigged for printing purposes. That’s what you call attention to detail!
Although the tool initially targets conference planners – imagine the benefits of sending a customised HotelMap to all meeting attendees who need to be near a specific location – its impact is likely to be much wider.
Based on client testimonials, initial reaction has been extremely positive. We urge everyone to give HotelMap a go, out of curiosity if nothing else.
But if you prefer a more conventional way to book a hotel, the company behind HotelMap (LondonTown.com) currently has a special voucher offer: £450 of free gifts with your hotel booking including personalised event guides, gym passes and discounts on attractions (e.g. the London Eye).
