Elegant new hotel suite: yours for £14,000/night!

London certainly has no shortage of luxury hotel suites, but one in particular looks set to eclipse all others in terms of size, luxury and of course price.  In May, the Lanesborough Hotel – managed by the inimitable Mr Gelardi since 1990 – will open its much anticipated Lanesborough Suite.

With its panoramic views over Hyde Park, Michelin-starred restaurant and personal butler service, the swanky Lanesborough already has a reputation as one of the best luxury hotels in London and indeed the world.  But its new signature suite, designed by Alberto Pinto – a world-class designer with a penchant for the spectacular and the luxurious – looks set to help it soar above these already heady standards.

Spanning a huge 4,000 square feet, the Lanesborough Suite will be the most expensive suite in London by some distance.  Its price is expected to be £14,000 a night (plus VAT), and for this guests will get the use of four bedrooms, two living rooms, five bathrooms, a kitchen and a dining room.

It seems that both the price and the room will be fit for a king – as well as any other foreign dignitaries or anyone on the Forbes Rich List!

The Dining Room will be in keeping with the hotel's traditional decor, though with plenty of technology discreetly tucked away "under the hood"

The suite will aim to blend 19th century elegance and 21st century opulence.  Located on the hotel’s first floor, it will feature floor to ceiling windows, with spectacular views out over Wellington Arch and Green Park.

Add to this the enviable service and facilities that all guests at the hotel receive as standard, and it’s likely that it will live up to the high expectations set by its soaring price tag.  24 hour butler service, a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce, an intimate bar and top-notch international cuisine are all part of a day’s work for staff at the Lanesborough.

Mr Gelardi is enthusiastic about the new suite, which is part of an ongoing programme of investment: “Since opening The Lanesborough 20 years ago, we have been committed to surpassing our guests’ expectations and the Lanesborough Suite is poised to continue this tradition,” he commented.

The Lanesborough Suite is scheduled to open at the beginning of May.

Although the signature “Royal Suite” at the soon-to-open Corinthia London claims to be even larger, when London Hotels Insight contacted Corinthia Hotels and its PR agency to provide information about this they failed to answer.  So we’d advise anyone with a massive wad of cash burning a hole in their pocket to make a beeline straight for the Lanesborough!

And if you want a huge suite at a fraction of the price (“only” £2500 per night!) though in a much grittier part of London, you may wish to check out our recent photo tour of the De Montfort Suite at the Town Hall Hotel.
