Claridge’s celebrates summer in style.
In anticipation of a hot English summer (which does happen sometimes!), one of London’s grandest hotels – Claridge’s – has created a special Summer Daze offer. From 31st July until 4th September 2011, the ultra-deluxe hotel will be offering rooms from as little as £265 per night – not bad given that room rates usually start from about £350 per night.
What’s more, if the weather doesn’t hold up you can always entertain yourselves in one of the many restaurants and bars including the infamous Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s. Or check in to the spa which offers a wide range of treatments including a Red Carpet package to give you some glam.
For a purely indulgent stay we’d recommend trying out the afternoon tea which recently won the Tea Guild’s Top London Afternoon Tea award. Often referred to as the “oscars” of the afternoon tea world, this is the second time Claridge’s has won this award (the first was back in 2006).

Claridge's award-winning afternoon tea may be the perfect way to seek sanctuary from the unpredictable English summer!
Claridge’s has always been one of the most popular afternoon teas with tourists, Londoners and celebrities alike. Kate Moss and Madonna are apparently fans and it is one of the celebrities’ favourite London hotels.
The tea includes a choice of 30 teas from all over the world, a selection of finger sandwiches, a selection of sweet pastries, freshly baked raisin and apple scones with tea-infused jam and Devonshire clotted cream.

If you want a luxury break in London this summer, be sure to check availability – though note that the Summer Daze offer is only available by booking directly with the hotel. And if you are offered the choice, we recommend the specially-designed Diane von Furstenberg rooms.

I love Claridge’s although it can get rather full of people working in the real estate industry who have just struck a big deal. I would advise avoiding the bar.
