If you are heading to London this September you’re in for quite a treat!
The 4 star Cavendish Hotel has created a new cocktail called the Red Rosa to mark the Art of Being British – a one-day street party celebrating all things British. The party takes place from noon until 5pm on 10th September along Jermyn Street and features entertainment and activities from a range of UK fashion and lifestyle brands.
The hotel itself is located on Jermyn Street which means guests can be sure they are in the heart of the action. As well as cocktails, they’ll be serving up a hog roast with all profits going to charity. And that’s not all – the hotel is also challenging aspiring mixologists to create a cocktail of their own to complement the Red Rosa (inspired by Rosa Lewis, the hotel’s most famous owner). The bright red cocktail is made with fresh strawberries, grenadine syrup, Cointreau and elderflower cordial – how summery.

The lucky winner of the cocktail competition (details here) will enjoy a weekend’s stay in a Junior Suite, with complimentary afternoon tea. They’ll also get to taste their creation along with the public, as the cocktail will be featured on the hotel’s bar menu throughout September. Regular readers may recall that my blogging colleague Andrea had a cocktail making class from the Head Barman at the Cavendish and it would certainly be an honour to have your cocktail listed in one of London’s best hotel bars!
The Junior Suites are located on the fifth floor and have views out over the London skyline, Bose music systems, Nespresso Coffee Makers and flat screen TVs – so it’s well worth winning!

Other hotels taking part in the Art of Being British event include the Ritz which will be holding a dance class, manicure and hair demonstration as well as the St James’s Hotel and Club which is presenting a cheese and wine demonstration. Sounds like fun to us – book your rooms now!
