London’s “James Bond hotel” opens its doors!
The Eccleston Square Hotel – billed as London’s most high tech hotel – is finally open! The 39 room boutique hotel in Belgravia features a range of in-room technology that James Bond would be proud of. Each room comes complete with an iPad 2 which controls all of the technology functions in the room; you can even use it to order room service, book a table at any London restaurant or reserve a spa appointment.
The rooms also feature electronic beds and at £12,000 each we expect them to be pretty comfy. The beds form part of the in-room “mind spa” which combines lighting, music and massage combination of the guest’s choosing. There are also 3D TVs in all of the rooms and a free 3D DVD library for guests to use. But maybe the most James Bondesque feature is the smart glass bathroom wall which turns from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button – now you see me, now you don’t!

Ipod docking stations, Nespresso machines, bathroom TVs and free WiFi are also standard. There are five types of room and some have small balconies and with views of pretty Eccleston Square. The hotel also features a French restaurant called Bistrot on the Square with specialities like Canard A L’orange, Steak and Frites and Tarte au citron.

Room rates usually start from £275 although if you stay in August you can score a room for around £250 if you book fast. It’s certainly one of the more interesting new London hotels to have entered the capital’s thriving hospitality scene and our eyes will be peeled on its early TripAdvisor reviews to see how guests rate it.
