London Fashion Week is in town next month which means hotels are coming up with a host of packages and gimmicks for visitors.
Park Plaza Hotels have already got involved and come up with a selection of fashion icon inspired cocktails. The drinks have been created and named after three singing celebrities; Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani.
While the three ladies are clearly into fashion they aren’t obviously linked to fashion week and are all American – why not Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Vivienne Westwood? It is after all London Fashion Week. But we’re not ones to complain: any excuse for a cocktail is OK by us.
Glass of Gaga is the largest of the cocktails and a mixture of Blue Curacao and white chocolate liqueur topped with a dragon fruit which is inspired by the hats the Lady is rarely seen without. Sake Stefani is the most colourful cocktail made with Midori melon liqueur, strawberry liqueur and Nigori Sake, in homage to Gwen Stefani’s ‘Harajuku Girls’ phase and garnished with small strawberry slices which represent Gwen’s red lipstick.

CaipRihanna – in our opinion the best-named cocktail - is a combination of fresh lime, brown sugar, fresh passion fruit, passion fruit liqueur, fresh strawberries and Sagatiba to create a vibrant and zesty cocktail to reflect the singer’s colourful, cover-girl style. The drink’s red strawberry flecks echo the singer’s now renowned flame-coloured locks.
London Fashion Week takes place on 16th September – 23rd September but the cocktails will be available throughout September priced at £9.
Pick one up at any of the six Park Plaza London hotels including Park Plaza County Hall, Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes, Plaza on the River and Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. Another hotel that tends to pull out all the stops for London’s fashion crowd is the hip May Fair Hotel.
