See seafood (and eat it) at the Andaz London.
The luxury five-star Andaz Liverpool Street hotel is offering guests the chance to learn all about seafood in a series of workshops this October. The workshops coincide with the popular London Restaurant Festival which runs from the 3rd to the 17th of October.
The Andaz after all offers no less than 5 in-house dining options including the 1901 restaurant which has been positively reviewed on this blog.
The classes are run by Martin Scholz, Head Chef at the hotel’s seafood restaurant Catch. Starting at Old Billingsgate Market, participants learn how to spot a good catch, how to shop and eat sustainably and how to make the most out of their favourite seafood.
Once the group is fully stocked with fish, the course continues back at the Andaz in a private room with its own open kitchen. The chef will teach you how to prepare the seafood to create a sumptuous 3 course meal.

Once the hard work is done, you’ll head back into Catch to taste the fruits of your labours and enjoy lunch with wines chosen by the Head Sommelier.
The workshops run on Saturday October 8th and Saturday October 15th. Priced at £70 per person, you’ll need to be up at the crack of dawn as they’ll start at 7:45am.

However you could always enjoy a night in the hotel which is located a short walk from the market in the heart of the underrated East End. All rooms include a healthy mini-bar (water, juices and snacks), free WiFi, iPod dock and luxurious yukata robes. It would be rude not to!
