Puddings galore for £10 at The Athenaeum.

by Jules on October 24, 2011

It's paradise for dessert lovers at The Athenaeum with the hotel's new Pudding Parlour!

The Athenaeum hotel has a special treat in store for those with a sweet tooth this month, the opening of their very own Pudding Parlour.  Located in the Athenaeum’s Garden Room, the Pudding Parlour launched on Saturday 22nd October to coincide with British Baking Week.

As well as a host of homemade sweet treats including macaroons, fruit tarts and chocolate sundaes made by the hotel’s French pastry chef,  The Boy Who Bakes (Edd Kimber) will be creating a ‘Pudding Of The Month’ available exclusively at the hotel.  Edd won The Great British Bake-Off 2010 and has since released his own cookbook ‘The Boy Who Bakes’ – signed copies will be on sale at the hotel for guests to purchase.

The rather tasty looking Plum/Damson Almondine - October's Pudding of The Month

This month’s ‘Pudding of the Month’ is the Plum/Damson Almondine followed in November by a Curd Tart and festive Mince Pies in December.  To wash the sweet treats down, guests will be offered a selection of pudding wines carefully selected to complement the various desserts.

The Pudding Parlour is open Monday to Saturday, 8pm – 11pm.  £10 gives you as much pudding as you can eat - and from the look of that photo we could eat a lot of pudding!  For £15 you’ll get a glass of pudding wine too.
