Aloft boutique hotel brand arrives in London.

by Holly on October 28, 2011

The first Aloft hotel in the UK is set to open very soon – and we can’t wait to get a peek at it!  The chain, which prides itself on bringing ‘style at a steal’, offers properties with unique urban styling.  So we know the new Aloft will be a modern, fresh and fun place to stay – or at least so it claims!

Besides having rooms with ultra-comfy beds, luxury showers and 42” TVs, they also promise ‘something to please your palate at any hour’ with a range of dining choices: Re:Fuel (a grab and go restaurant) along with w xyz(SM) bar, its lively lobby bar.  And you can stay connected 24/7 too, since the London Aloft will have hotel-wide free WiFi (whoopee!).

The new hotel opens at London’s ExCel conference centre on Monday October 31st.  The 252-bedroom property will be well-placed for visitors to the London Olympics in 2012, as the centre’s five arenas will be hosting the Boxing, Fencing, Judo, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Weightlifting and Wrestling, plus events in the Paralympic Games too.

Established in Montreal in 2008, Aloft has since opened 55 hotels across the world, making it the fastest growing new brand in the industry’s history – and they’re keen to continue this growth in the UK.  Brian McGuinness, senior vice president of Aloft, has promised new properties in Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, as well as more in London.

We’ll watch early guest reviews with interest, but on paper at least it looks like a welcome and interesting addition to the London hotel scene.
