Which London hotels are officially COOL?

The May Fair has cool rooms and a cool spa

The winners of the annual COOL Venues Awards, developed in 2007 by Wesley Mendy of Prestige Events magazine, were announced recently.

Winners are chosen in a rather unique way looking at whether or not a venue is “COOL” enough to attract guests to RSVP to an invitation and actually turn up at the event, as well as how exciting the venue is overall.

The rules state that a COOL venue should have Charisma, Originality, Style, Innovation, Sex Appeal, Authenticity, Aspiration and Uniqueness – quite a list!  The council who judge the awards are made up from a host of different industry professionals, ranging from journalists to event organisers.

The Town Hall Hotel looks pretty cool to us!

And so without further ado we present the London hotels which are officially COOL.  Taking top spot for COOLest Hotel Chain is Radisson Edwardian which won the award for the third year in a row - very cool indeed!  Their recently renovated Mercer Street Hotel and stylish new Guildford hotel probably helped, as did the fact they have free WiFi.  Runners-up in this category included W Hotels, Myhotels and Malmaison.

Other London hotels winning awards included The May Fair (the official London fashion week hotel) for COOLest Spa, The Hempel for COOLest boutique hotel and the Town Hall Hotel as COOLest independent hotel.

If you are looking to hold an event or need some funky meeting rooms in London hotels, do make sure you check they’re officially cool venues!
